Photo Olympics
R&R: This assignment was a photo-taking recap for students who hadn't taken anything since the Photo 1 classes. It was helpful for me and a good introduction to Photo 2. I imagine it was also quite helpful to those who took Photo 1 during previous years.
Found Letters
R&R: The point of this assignment was to make us pay attention to detail. It was actually pretty difficult to find some of these letters, but the end result was rewarding.
Text and Symbols
R&R: The point of this assignment was to incorporate both language and visuals to create a well put-together piece of art. I had a lot of fun with this assignment because I got to directly reference songs I love. I still get to do this sometimes with only visuals, but using words helps to make the reference clearer.
Bokeh
R&R: The point of this assignment was for us to learn a cool visual technique that photographers have used for a long time. It was pretty hard getting perfect bokeh images but I did my best. I don't think they turned out too bad.
Oil and Water
R&R: This was not only an exercise in photography but also an exercise in creativity with liquids. This was one of my favorite assignments in this class, because I think these are some of my most beautiful creations, specifically the green and blue paint in milk. A lot of these pictures were weirdly meaningful to me.
Abstract Still-Life
R&R: The point of this assignment was for us to take something completely anomalous and make a piece of abstract art out of it. I can't say I enjoyed this assignment. It wasn't too difficult but I was unable to get a lot of beauty out of a bunch of random props. There were only two pictures I took that I was really proud of.
UV Lighting
R&R: We did this assignment to explore a really cool style of photography, using ultraviolet light to contrast black with bright colors. I enjoyed this assignment a lot because regardless of the difficulty, I felt very at home making this style of art.
